NORTH AMITYVILLE, N.Y. (AP) - Officials in Suffolk County have rescued a dog and her litter from a dangerous situation.

Newsday reports (https://nwsdy.li/2lSieYf ) that Dominique Baptiste, of North Amityville, called police for help with her trapped pet and her brood around 10 a.m. Sunday. Police say Baptiste’s Yorkshire terrier became stuck underneath a shed after giving birth in her backyard.

Officials say Emergency Service officers were able to lift the shed with air bags. Police say four of the six puppies survived along with the mother.
