JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - A man has been accused of setting a house fire that killed five dogs in Jackson.
Local news outlets report that investigators say 49-year-old Angelo Taylor was arrested and charged with arson in connection with the Friday morning fire in the city’s Fondren neighborhood.
Six people inside the home escaped, but five dogs were unable to get out and died.
Arriving firefighters say flames ripped through the attic of the home. Crews were able to extinguish the blaze and get it under control in about 30 minutes.
Chief Cleotha Sanders says investigators determined the fire was intentionally set.
It’s unclear if Taylor has an attorney.
