PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Philadelphia police say a 27-year-old man has been fatally shot in a rooming house.

Police didn’t immediately release the name of the victim, or make an arrest in the shooting. It occurred about 9:45 p.m. Tuesday in the 3100 block of Reach Street. That’s in the city’s Kensington section.

Chief Inspector Scott Small says the victim was shot once in the chest.

Police say witnesses heard someone run into the rooming house and up the stairs before the shooting began. The shooter then ran away.
