EDDYSTONE, Pa. (AP) - Police say the former manager burglarized a Pennsylvania fast-food restaurant while a patrolling officer watched, then caught her with nearly $10,000.

Thirty-four-year-old Christine Thomas, of Chester, faces a preliminary hearing March 27 on burglary and other charges stemming from the incident early Monday in Eddystone.

A borough officer was outside the Popeye’s Chicken restaurant where Thomas used to work when he saw her enter through a side door then go inside and put on a ski mask about 1:20 a.m.

The officer waited for her to come and found a key to the restaurant on the ground near her, and $9,975 she had allegedly just taken from the restaurant’s safe. The current manager arrived and told police Thomas wasn’t authorized to be in the building.

Online court records don’t list an attorney for her.
