ELIZABETH, N.J. (AP) - Authorities in Elizabeth say a suspect fleeing from police crashed into a school bus, injuring eight children, and then broke into a house.

Police were pursuing 31-year-old Abdul Williams of East Orange when the crash occurred Wednesday afternoon. Police say the eight students crash were taken to Trinitas Medical Center with minor injuries.

Officials say the suspect then fled on foot and broke into a home, where police apprehended him.

Williams has been charged with eluding police, resisting arrest, burglary, aggravated assault and several drug charges. It’s not known if he has a lawyer.
