LATROBE, Pa. (AP) - A worker at a western Pennsylvania group home for troubled youths has been charged with sexually assaulting two residents, one of whom was a minor.

Police say 31-year-old Kelly Zawodniak sexually assaulted an 18-year-old male last month in the laundry room of the Adelphoi Village group home in Unity Township.

Authorities say she also left letters that were “sexual in nature” on the pillow of a 16-year-old ward at a different group home in Latrobe and tried to hug him in the laundry room.

Troopers say both incidents happened within eight days of Zawodniak starting work there.

Zawodniak faces charges including institutional sexual assault and corruption of minors. She declined to comment on Wednesday.

Adelphoi (ah-DEL’-fy) Village says she has been fired.
