PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Landslides have closed the Historic Columbia River Highway between Multnomah Falls and Angel’s Rest.

Oregon Department of Transportation spokesman Don Hamilton says steep slopes along the highway are saturated and recurring slides have blocked the road.

The highway won’t reopen until the slopes have stabilized and crews can safely remove debris. That’s not expected to happen until Friday at the earliest.
