INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - A suburban Indianapolis man has been sentenced to more than three years in prison for fraud and filing false tax returns.

Troy L. Sissom of Greenwood learned his punishment during a Wednesday court hearing. The U.S. attorney’s office says Greenwood was sentenced to 41 months in federal prison after pleading guilty. He must serve two years of supervised release and make full restitution.

Prosecutors say he bilked more than $2.7 million from F.A. Wilhelm Construction Co., where he worked as a project manager. They say he created a company and generated false invoices for construction materials that he submitted to Wilhelm for payment.

Prosecutors say the fraud lasted from 2003 to 2015.
