FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) - Crews battling a human-caused grass fire north of Flagstaff say they expect to contain it soon.

Coconino County Forest officials say the so-called Kendrick Fire was reported about 2:30 p.m. Friday and it grew to about 250 acres within three hours.

But crews were taking advantage of low winds as sunset neared and reported good progress toward getting the fire under control.

They say the fire is burning 15 miles north of Flagstaff, just east of Kendrick Park and south of Saddle Mountain.

Multiple resources are on the scene from the Forest Service and Summit Fire Department including four engines, one water tender and about 20 firefighters.

Authorities say no structures are being threatened.
