SAN ANTONIO (AP) - Dodd City used strong rebounding and solid inside play, highlighted by cousins Olivia Hilliard and Fallon Hilliard, to defeat Garden City 59-36 in a Class 1A girls’ semifinal basketball matchup Thursday at the Alamodome.

Dodd City (32-3) moves on to face Nazareth in the Class 1A finals Saturday morning.

Olivia Hilliard had 18 points and 12 rebounds while Fallon Hilliard added 15 points and 13 rebounds. Lindsay Carter contributed 13 points and nine rebounds for the winners.

The Hornets had the rebound advantage over Garden City, 53-31.

Garden City (27-7) relied on its perimeter shooting as Bethany Matscheck was 3-for-4 from three-point range. She led the Bearkats with nine points while Madison Hastings added eight points in the loss.
