PLAQUEMINE, La. (AP) - The Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office has launched a homicide investigation in the death of a Baton Rouge man whose body was found on a bayou bank in Rosedale.
Chief Deputy Stephen Engolio says the identity of the man, Charles Hills Jr., was confirmed Wednesday through a DNA match. He had an extensive criminal history, including arrests for theft, burglary and battery.
The Advocate reports (https://bit.ly/2lEfGbU ) Hills’ remains were found Oct. 31. Sheriff’s Detective Lori Morgan says it appears the body had been hidden under a tarp in the woods for at least a few years.
Investigators have not been able to find a missing person report for Hills or successfully contact any family members.
