LOVELAND, Colo. (AP) - A Loveland police officer has been charged with two misdemeanors tied to his use of force during an arrest of an individual last November.

District Attorney Cliff Riedel says a grand jury returned indictments against Sgt. Justin Chase on Wednesday for misdemeanor assault and misdemeanor harassment.

Details of what happened during the arrest were not immediately released.



The Loveland Reporter-Herald reports (https://bit.ly/2lEOGcm ) that Chase is scheduled to make a first appearance before a Larimer County judge on March 24.

Officials say Chase has been placed on paid administrative leave. He could not be reached for comment.
