ELKTON, Md. (AP) - Authorities say a man and woman have been killed in a crash involving a stolen vehicle that was being pursued by police near Elkton.

Officials say the two died on Sunday following a car chase that began when officers attempted to stop a vehicle that they say was stolen from New Hampshire.

During the chase, police say the driver loss control, struck a guardrail on Interstate 95 and went down a hill. The two people inside the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash temporarily shut down a portion of the roadway.

Officials have not yet released the identities of the two people killed, pending notification of their families.
