LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say human remains found in the desert north of Lake Havasu City have been identified as those of a man who was reported missing in June.

The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office says Monday that the remains were found in November in a desert area south of Interstate 40.

The county’s medical examiner recently identified the remains as those of 38-year-old Joseph Daniel Ligori of Kingman.

His cause of death is unknown.

Sheriff’s spokeswoman Trish Carter says the death was initially thought to be a homicide.

She says investigators who have exhausted all of their leads have since been unable to find evidence backing up that suspicion.
