NEW ORLEANS (AP) - A woman has been arrested after New Orleans police say she stabbed a man during an argument.

According to a police report, officers responded Saturday morning to a report of a stabbing in New Orleans East’s Pines Village neighborhood.

The victim, a 54-year-old man, said he and 40-year-old Nicole Swain were in an argument that turned physical. Police say Swain stabbed the man.

Swain was arrested on one count of aggravated battery. According to criminal records, Swain pleaded guilty in 1997 for cocaine possession, for which she received a two-year suspended sentence and two years of active probation. In 2000, she pleaded guilty to unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling and was sentenced to four years in prison.

It’s unclear if Swain has an attorney.
