“Modern Family” star Rico Rodriguez penned a touching tribute to his father Sunday after his sudden death at the age of 52.

The 18-year-old actor, who plays Manny Delgado on the hit ABC series, wrote on Instagram that he had faced the “toughest week” of his life since losing his father, Roy Rodriguez, on March 12.

“My Dad was the most kind hearted, loving, hard working, determined, and funny man I have ever known,” the teen wrote. “He was like a super hero, he had the ability to get the best out of you day in and day out.”

Mr. Rodriguez included a photo of himself and his father happily sipping on milkshakes.

“I’m gonna miss your hugs. I’m gonna miss your advice. I’m gonna miss your smile, and I’m gonna miss your laugh,” he wrote. “I know you’re looking down at us right now giving us the green light to move forward. I miss you Daddy. I’ll love you forever - Your youngest.”

Roy Rodriguez is survived by his wife Diane and four children, TMZ reported.
