NEW YORK (AP) - A 42-year-old Brooklyn man has been indicted on murder charges in the death and dismemberment of his wife, whose remains have not been found.
Phillip Martin was arraigned Thursday on murder, manslaughter and concealment of a human corpse charges in the death of 43-year-old Diana Rodriquez. He’s being held without bail. Information on his lawyer wasn’t immediately available.
Prosecutors say Martin admitted to killing his wife in January and keeping her body in his living room for about a week. They say he told them he cut up her body with a saw and dumped the remains in trash cans on the street.
The remains still haven’t been recovered.
The victim’s relatives reported her missing last month after confronting the husband, who gave them differing accounts of her whereabouts.
