CANTERBURY, Conn. (AP) - Connecticut State Police say a man was killed when a tree fell on him while he was cutting it down.

Authorities say 32-year-old Matthew Veloce of Canterbury was working alone cutting the tree down with a chain saw when the accident happened around 4:20 p.m. Saturday. He was found by his wife.

Veloce was pronounced dead at the scene.

This story has been corrected to show that the man was killed when a tree fell on him, not when his chain saw fell on him.
