WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - Police say they are investigating a shooting in downtown Wilmington that left a 30-year-old man dead.
Authorities say police were called to the 700 block of North Tatnall Street just after midnight Saturday.
They found the man lying at a nearby intersection suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at Wilmington Hospital. Authorities are withholding the man’s name pending notification of the next of kin.
Wilmington, which has been plagued for years by gun violence, has seen more than 45 shootings this year, resulting in at least 13 deaths.
