ROY, Utah (AP) - Police in northern Utah have arrested a married couple after receiving reports that they were abusing their sons.
Roy Police Sgt. Matt Gwynn says arrested the Utah Division of Child and Family Services contacted detectives on Thursday about a neglect complaint they had received.
Gwynn says the three boys had been locked in a bedroom for 10 to 13 hours at a time. Police believe that the boys, who are between the ages of 7 and 11, may have had their eyes and mouths covered with duct tape and their wrists bound with plastic zip ties.
Gwynn says the couple was fostering a 2-year-old girl at the time of their arrests and there is no evidence that the girl was abused.
DCFS spokeswoman Ashley Sumner says the agency’s first consideration is child safety.
