KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tennessee and Wake Forest will matchup in men’s basketball showdowns each of the next two seasons as part of a home-and-home series.

In the deal announced Friday, Wake Forest will host Tennessee on Dec. 23 next season. The teams will face each other again at Tennessee on Dec. 22, 2018.

Tennessee and Wake Forest have met once in the last 45 years - an 82-63 Tennessee victory in the 2013 Battle 4 Atlantics in the Bahamas. The teams haven’t met in Knoxville since 1967 and haven’t faced off in Winston-Salem since the 1970-71 season.

Tennessee leads the series 8-2.

Wake Forest (17-12) is on the NCAA Tournament bubble in coach Danny Manning’s third season. Tennessee (15-15) has seen its postseason hopes fade with a late slide in Rick Barnes’ second season.
