JESSUP, Md. (AP) - Howard County police say a delivery driver was killed when a pile of large aluminum poles fell on him.
The department said in a news release that the incident happened Friday morning at Sunair Awnings in Jessup. Police say 54-year-old Carlos Urena-Valverde of Plainfield, New Jersey, was unloading a large pile of poles when the weight shifted and the poles fell on him.
Investigators say Urena-Valverde, who worked for a New Jersey freight company, was pronounced dead at the scene.
