SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - An Essex, Vermont, teenager is facing a charge of aggravated assault after police say he rammed his car into another vehicle and assaulted another teen.

Police say they responded to report of reckless driving in South Burlington on Friday night. A teenager told police he had been the victim of a hit-and-run collision and assault. Police say a 17-year-old driver had rammed into the victim’s vehicle at least twice and then entered the vehicle and assaulted him.

Both the suspect and the victim were taken to the University of Vermont Medical Center for evaluation of minor injuries.

The suspect has been cited to appear in court on March 9 on charges of aggravated assault, grossly negligent operation and leaving the scene of an accident.
