TACOMA, Wash. (AP) - A man has been charged with murder and five counts of assault in the shooting death of a 15-year-old boy south of Tacoma Friday.

The Pierce County Prosecutor’s Office said in a news release that 22-year-old Billy Gene Williamson was charged Monday.

Prosecutor Mark Lindquist says two juvenile teens also have been detained while charges against them are considered.

The News Tribune reports (https://goo.gl/S4TppW) the incident in which Chase McKee was shot in the head “appears to be an argument over a girl,” but McKee was not the target.

The prosecutor’s office says police responded to an area of Lakewood Friday evening on reports of a shooting and found the teen boy with the gunshot wound. He died later of his injuries.

Williamson pleaded not guilty and had bail set at $2 million.
