RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - A Richmond man has been arrested in connection with the death of an Amelia Court House woman found slain in a parking lot behind a church.
Richmond police tell local media that 57-year-old John B. Harvie surrendered to detectives Sunday night and has been charged with robbery and use of a firearm in commission of a felony. Additional charges are pending.
Police found 47-year-old Katherine Wiglesworth on Saturday evening in the parking lot of the Metropolitan African American Baptist Church in South Richmond. She had been shot, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives believe Wiglesworth and Harvie knew each other. It’s unclear if Harvie has an attorney.
