PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Authorities in Philadelphia say two dozen teens have been arrested following a series of group fights.
Police say hundreds of teenagers gathered in downtown Philadelphia around 5:30 p.m. on Monday following arguments on social media. Officials say the groups fought on sidewalks and weaved through traffic.
Police say they made 25 arrests for disorderly conduct and failing to disperse.
Officials say one police officer was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital with an undisclosed injury. Police say a boy, who was assaulted in the subway, was taken to Jefferson University Hospital with minor injuries.
Police say early dismissals at area schools and warm weather spurred the activity. Philadelphia Police Captain Joe Sullivan says the behavior is unacceptable.
