NEW YORK (AP) - Authorities in New York City say they’re investigating the death of an 8-year-old boy who was found unconscious in a Staten Island apartment.
Police say officers responded to a 911 call around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday reporting an unconscious person inside an apartment on Saint Marks Place. NYPD officials say officers found an 8-year-old boy unconscious and unresponsive.
He was taken by ambulance to Richmond University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Police say there were no obvious signs of trauma on the boy’s body. Officials have identified him as Naseem Douglas.
The city medical examiner’s office will determine the cause of death.
