RIVERDALE, Ga. (AP) - Police say a homeowner shot and killed a suspected burglar just south of Atlanta.
WSB-TV reports (https://2wsb.tv/2lVLIzC ) that officers were called to the home in Riverdale on Tuesday and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.
Authorities say 19-year-old Dexter Williams was taken to the hospital in critical condition and later died.
Police say the homeowner was inside the house when Williams tried to break in.
The homeowner fired, hitting Williams, who ran to a nearby driveway and collapsed.
Police say a second suspect in the break-in, 22-year-old Patrick Kemp, was taken into custody. It wasn’t known early Wednesday whether Kemp has an attorney who could comment on his behalf.
