Sen. Tammy Baldwin said Wednesday she doesn’t believe Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell isn’t taking the firing of former FBI Director James Comey seriously.

“I am very concerned that he has not taken the underlying question with the seriousness it requires,” the Wisconsin Democrat said on MSNBC.

Ms. Baldwin said there needs to be a special prosecutor to get the bottom of what happened in the 2016 election and how Russia interfered.

“We can never lose sight of the underlying issue which is Russia has tampered with and influenced our democracy,” she said. “I think it should be the top civil service prosecutor in the [Justice Department] who names that prosecutor.”
