BAY SHORE, N.Y. (AP) - Police are investigating the death of a homeless man whose body was found floating in a Long Island bay.
Authorities in Suffolk County say a boater saw the body floating in the Great South Bay Tuesday night and contacted police.
The man, identified as 59-year-old Jose Espino-Perez, was pronounced dead by the medical examiner’s office. Officials say his death doesn’t appear to be suspicious.
According to police, Espino-Perez was homeless.
An autopsy is planned by the medical examiner to determine the cause of death, and an investigation is underway.
