Police: Boy dies after accidentally shooting himself

EUNICE, La. (AP) - Authorities say a 12-year-old boy has fatally shot himself with a semi-automatic pistol.

KATC-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2qYmXFS) Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot says the shooting happened Monday afternoon at the boy’s home. He says the boy was playing with the gun when he was shot.

The boy was transported to the hospital, where he later died. The identity of the boy wasn’t immediately released.
