PARSIPPANY, N.J. (AP) - New Jersey police responded en masse to shut down a massive house party after guests surrounded and shoved the initial responding officers.
On Saturday, Parsippany police responding to a noise complaint found over 400 partiers at a local house. A spokesperson for Parsippany police told NJ.com (https://bit.ly/2pzJ8AT ) on Wednesday that the officers were encircled and pushed by the crowd after failing to cause the party to disperse.
The department called for backup and officers with the state police, Hanover, East Hanover, Morris Plains, Morristown, Denville, Wharton, Morris County Park Police, Fairfield, Rockaway and Montville police departments responded.
Authorities say two tenants of the residence were given citations, and there were no injuries.
