HAMILTON, Mont. (AP) - Authorities in western Montana have released the names of a couple that died in a murder-suicide at the residence east of Corvallis.

Ravalli County Sheriff Steve Holton says an investigation determined 75-year-old Wesley Coffin shot and killed his wife, 69-year-old Kaylin Ray, then shot himself.

Their bodies were found on the evening of May 7 by officers conducting a welfare check on Ray.

Holton says the circumstances of the shooting are being investigated to learn how to possibly prevent something similar from happening in the future.
