TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) - The Idaho State Bar has reprimanded a former Twin Falls County prosecutor candidate for comments he made against a political opponent.

The Times-News (https://bit.ly/2r1K2uV ) reports in a Friday story that attorney Mark Guerry last year accused 5th District Judge Richard Bevan of helping Twin Falls County Prosecutor Grant Loebs get out of multiple drunken driving arrests.

Loebs and Bevan denied the accusations. The state bar confirmed this, noting that Loebs has never even been pulled over for suspected drunken driving, nor has he ever been charged with such a crime.

The state bar found Guerry made the allegation with reckless disregard for truth. However, the state bar will not discipline Guerry.

Loebs eventually won his bid for re-election against Guerry in the 2016 May election.

Guerry did not immediately return a request for comment.

This story has been edited to clarify that Loebs has never been pulled over on suspicion of drunken driving.
