SPRINFIELD, Vt. (AP) - Authorities have arrested 16 people in the Springfield, Vermont, area for drug-related crimes.

Police say the months-long investigation focused on a home near an elementary school where the resident, 37-year-old Danielle Garceau, was arrested on three counts of selling narcotics on school grounds, and two counts of violating her court-ordered conditions of release. The Rutland Herald reports https://bit.ly/2qoOeDX that Garceau was being held on $10,000 bail. It wasn’t immediately known if she’s being represented by an attorney.

Authorities say 15 other people also were cited last week on charges of selling heroin, including two who face charges of selling heroin on school grounds.

Following the arrests, police are scheduling a forum to discuss opiate-related issues such as treatment, prevention and education. A date for the forum has not yet been announced.
