Body of servicewoman who died in fall returns home

FORTY FORT, Pa. (AP) - The body of a U.S. Air Force servicewoman who died in a fall in Japan has returned home to Pennsylvania.

WNEP-TV (https://bit.ly/2qMpVBk ) reports mourners carrying candles linked the streets of Forty Fort in Luzerne County as police escorted Airman Shannon Purcell’s body to a funeral home early Tuesday.

Authorities say the 19-year-old slipped and fell from a waterfall while on leave in Okinawa on Saturday.

Her funeral is scheduled for Friday.
