GAUTIER, Miss. (AP) - Two teenagers have been arrested after authorities say they shot another teen during a robbery over a drug deal.
The Sun Herald reports (https://bit.ly/2pPSGbO) Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Casey Baxter says a 16- and 17-year-old were arrested Monday and charged with aggravated assault and theft.
Baxter says another 17-year-old was shot in the abdomen and robbed during the attempted drug deal that involved marijuana.
The wounded teen’s brother drove him to a hospital. The teen was treated and released.
Authorities say they later found marijuana at the scene of the shooting. They say it was thrown from a vehicle.
The juveniles will be charged as adults, although their names haven’t been released. It’s unclear if they have an attorney.
