LANCASTER, Pa. (AP) - A Delaware man who led police on a high-speed chase with a 7-week-old child in his backseat has been found not guilty of trying to run down a Pennsylvania state trooper, but was convicted of other charges.

LNP newspaper reports (https://bit.ly/2rpBmfi ) 33-year-old Ronald Comeger was acquitted of aggravated assault against the trooper but found guilty of endangerment charges, fleeing police and a separate assault charge.

Prosecutors said Comeger was traveling more than 100 miles per hour when he veered toward the trooper, who dove out of the way. Comeger’s attorney said he was simply trying to avoid the spike strips the trooper had just laid down.

Comeger will be sentenced within 90 days. He still faces an intimidation charge relating to a witness who did not show up.
