LEXINGTON, S.C. (AP) - Authorities say a man accused in a fatal shooting in South Carolina had a signed, written statement from a woman who claimed she didn’t know the suspect was wanted.
The State Law Enforcement Division charged 32-year-old Brandon Pham with murder Wednesday. Agents say Pham picked a fight with 26-year-old Austin Chandler at a Lexington home Monday, then shot him.
Authorities say 34-year-old Pamela Norris was at the home when Pham killed Chandler, but lied to SLED agents. Officials say a copy of Norris’ signed statement to agents was found on Pham when he was arrested.
Norris is charged as an accessory after the fact and hindering law enforcement.
It wasn’t known if either suspect had attorneys.
