LAKEWOOD, Wash. (AP) - Police say one person has died, two people have been detained and officers were seeking another person after a shooting between two vehicles south of Tacoma.

The News Tribune reports (https://goo.gl/iqxIXF ) officers were sent to a report of a shooting in the 8900 block of South Tacoma Way in Lakewood Tuesday afternoon.

Lakewood police spokesman Chris Lawler says officers were told people inside two vehicles fired about 20 shots in the altercation.

Lawler says one of the vehicles was found crashed into a telephone pole nearby. He says the driver was gone and a dead man was in the passenger seat.

Pierce County sheriff’s deputies found the other car in Parkland.

Lawler says a third vehicle was hit by a bullet during the shooting, but its occupants were unharmed.
