PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Police say 11 people were taken to hospitals after a deck collapsed at a Philadelphia apartment building, but none of the injuries were believed to be life-threatening.

Police said 16 people were on the rear deck when it gave way at the building in Roxborough northwest of the city center at about 8:45 p.m. Saturday.

The occupants of the unit, a 54-year-old man and 51-year-old woman, were taken to Roxborough hospital with back and arm pain. Nine other people were taken to other hospitals.

Officials from the city department of licenses and inspections were at the scene looking into the cause of the collapse.
