BEND, Ore. (AP) - Fire staff from the Deschutes and Ochoco national forests and others will conduct a controlled burn along the Cascade Lakes Highway near Bend, Oregon.

KTVZ-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2q7rjKx ) the fuels specialists plan to burn about 100 acres across from the Widgi Creek Golf Course on Monday.

This burn is part of the West Bend Project. While no road or trail closures are expected, flaggers maybe used to guide traffic on the highway.

Crews also will ignite a 75-acre prescribed burn off Forest Road 41.

Traffic delays may be possible on Forest Road 41.

If conditions are favorable, they’ll also burn about 140 acres in the Metolius Basin area.

The burns are set to start at 10:30 a.m. and will run for about four hours.
