LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) - Liberty men’s basketball coach Ritchie McKay has promoted Marcus Conrad to director of player development.

McKay made the announcement Monday. Conrad had been serving as a graduate assistant for the last two seasons for the Flames.

Conrad has a long association with McKay. He served as a student manager under Tony Bennett while McKay was the associated head coach. Conrad was promoted to head manager his senior year at Virginia, assisting with travel arrangements, meals, video editing and recruiting coordination.

McKay says Conrad is “a Swiss Army-knife on our staff because he takes care of so many things behind the scenes that nobody notices.”
