TARRANT, Ala. (AP) - A man has been found dead after authorities say he fell off a train in Tarrant, Alabama.

AL.com reports (https://bit.ly/2rHe5p3 ) that Birmingham Fire and Rescue and police say the man was found around 6:30 a.m. Saturday in the CSX rail yard. Fire Capt. Bryan Harrell says Birmingham authorities responded because the incident was initially reported within their jurisdiction.

A CSX spokesperson says the man’s body was found on the tracks and had likely been there for hours. The spokesperson says it seemed he was trying to get on or off the train when he fell.

The man’s identity has not been released. He was not a CSX employee.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office had been investigating.
