OSWEGO, Ill. (AP) - Officials in a suburban Chicago school district say they’re issuing hundreds of new diplomas after an incorrect signature was discovered on diplomas handed out over the weekend.
The Aurora Beacon-News reports (https://trib.in/2qL3afA ) diplomas issued Saturday to graduates of Oswego East High School had the signature of the former superintendent instead of the current one.
Superintendent John Sparlin says it was a clerical error at the school and the company that prints diplomas has agreed to reprint them at no cost to the district.
Just over 500 diplomas were affected. Sparlin says new ones will be mailed to graduates within two weeks.
