SARATOGA, N.Y. (AP) - State police say the death of a homeless man whose body was found in an upstate New York lake has been deemed an accident.

Troopers say a homeowner on state Route 9P on Saratoga Lake in the town of Saratoga reported seeing a bicycle and some personal belongings left on his dock last Sunday. When troopers arrived they found a body submerged about 10 feet away from the dock.

The body was pulled from the water and taken to a local hospital for an autopsy.

Troopers say Wednesday that the autopsy revealed that 52-year-old Guy Simmons died in an accidental drowning. Police say he was homeless at the time of his death and had a history of treatment and medication for recurrent seizures.
