BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) - U.S. Census Bureau estimates show population in Bozeman and surrounding communities is growing faster than last year.

The Bozeman Daily Chronicle reported (https://bit.ly/2qguC6g ) Thursday that officials estimate Bozeman added about 1,850 residents between 2015 and 2016, bringing the city to 45,250 people.

Bozeman is the fastest growing municipality in Montana by a substantial margin, but is still the fourth largest city in the state; after Billings, Missoula and Great Falls. Officials estimate the population of Billings stayed essentially flat between 2015 and 2016, while Missoula grew at roughly 2 percent and Great Falls, which has a population of 59,178, saw a modest population decline.
