GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) - Two police cars have crashed into each other as officers in North Carolina rushed to help a colleague who had a BB gun pointed at him during a traffic stop.

Greensboro Police told media outlets that both officers driving the cruisers were taken to the hospital to be checked out, but their injuries appeared minor.

Authorities say the officer making the traffic stop just south of downtown called for help on his radio around 3 p.m. Friday when someone holding a BB gun walked up to his car.

The man with the BB gun was arrested. His name was not released.

No other injuries were reported.
