DENVER (AP) - Authorities say a Greeley man was the worker killed in an oil tank explosion in northern Colorado.

Weld County Coroner Carl Blesch says 32-year-old Oscar Lopez Velasquez was killed in Thursday’s blast.

Blesch said Saturday no other information was immediately available. The conditions of three other workers who were injured in the blast weren’t released.

It wasn’t immediately known who Velasquez worked for.

The fire erupted as workers were completing upgrades to an oil tank battery, which is a collection of tanks that receive crude oil production from a well.

Anadarko Petroleum Co. said its facility in Mead, about 40 miles (64 kilometers) north of Denver, was not in service at the time.

Anadarko, state agencies and the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating the fire.
