CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - A man has been shot to death inside a North Carolina motel room while a teen also inside the room suffered minor injuries.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said in a news release that officers were called to the motel near Interstate 85 around 5:30 a.m. Monday.
Authorities say 23-year-old Bobby Wesley Jr. was found dead from gunshots and a 16-year-old boy was also attacked and suffered minor injuries.
Police did not release a motive for the shooting. No arrests have been made.
Charlotte police have reported three homicides over the Memorial Day weekend and 34 so far in 2017. The city has seen a sharp increase in killings - there were 62 homicides reported last year after just 42 killings were reported in 2014.
